FLAAC

Former Lucent / Avaya Associate Connection

I'm Sorry about the popup ads on this page.  This service is free but the new annoying popup ads are a way for the service provider to force upgrading to a "pay for service" option.

I would recommend that you look into popup killer software. You can find freeware software that can make surfing the web more enjoyable.

Purpose

This web page was created to provide a means of communication among friends that worked for Lucent and Avaya once they leave their company.  We have supported each other over the years and many of us will feel disconnected without some connection to our friends.

The old work email address will no longer work and most of us don't know each other's home email address.  Please send your home email address to jackpayne3@yahoo.com and we will add it to "The List."  You can also send in good news to share with the rest of us.  We would appreciate hearing your success stories in finding a job and also let us know if your employer would like additional good people.

After 22 years with Mt. Bell, ATT, Lucent and Avaya I hope to qualify to be part of something and the FLAAC web site looks like it.  After an early departure in November of 2003 it took me about four months to realize that the market for old telecom managers didn’t exist.  At that point I got my real estate license.  The first company I worked for was not a good experience, so in January of 2005 I went to work for Prestige Real Estate Group in Highlands Ranch.  This was the right thing to do for me and for my clients.  If you or anyone you know is in need of Realtor assistance in the Denver area, please let me know. Easy link to my web site is www.alcovert.com.

Left Avaya in November, 2000. It seemed like a good time to take my pension and pursue a new career in IS Security. Went to work for Nortel as a Senior Security Consultant (professional hacker) within their Professional Services organization. It was a great job with a great company, but unfortunately they made the strategic decision to exit the professional services business. My entire organization was laid off in February of 2002. Currently working as an independent consultant with some of my ex-Nortel buddies at a new security startup - www.olympussecurity.com

Recommendation: Get a free web email account from hotmail, yahoo or some other provider for your job hunting communications.  This makes it easier for you continue to have access to email even if you decide to change Internet Service Providers.  You can also use them to check your email while traveling, as long as you have access to the web.  Local libraries usually have internet access that is available to the public.  My Yahoo email works great when I visit my family across the US because they all have internet access.
